it really upsets me when iraqis demonstrate against the US, especially with issues of "poor security" and "unemployment." i'm sure that a lot of it has to do with what the press reports, but if these people are complaining and demanding more from the US, especially when US troops are dying every single day for these people, then i say let them be and see what life is like without any help. if these protesters want to go back to living under someone like Saddam, then they obviously deserve to live under such oppression.

i also think that the media should start reporting more of the positive sides of the iraqi people. yesterday, i saw a very small headline hidden in a lot of text that the overwhelming majority of iraqis favor the US and are happy that saddam is gone. why don't we hear things like this more often? not only would it help sentiment domestically in the US, it would help the sentiment worldwide.
